P5 made the short journey to Ardress House today as part of their World Around Us Topic. The children have been busy learning all about different farms and farms animals and today they got to experience life on a farm many years ago.
We started our day with a trail through the orchard, learning all about apples. Afterwards, we went out through the cobbles farmyard learning all about the different animals and jobs that were performed on farms many years ago. The children had an opportunity to milk the cows before learning what the milk was used for. We got to see different animals such as the goats, Shetland ponies, chicken and roosters before learning all about bats. One of the highlights from today was feeding the chickens
