Out-Door Play Equipment

We have spent many years building up an extensive array of out-door play equipment on our school grounds.

It is our intention to ensure that the children in Kingsisland have the very best resources.

We believe that active children are happy children. Children in Kingsisland have opportunities to play on our:

  • Trim Trail
  • Adventure Park
  • School Bus
  • Mushroom House
  • Buddy Hut
  • Ark Playhouse
  • Covered sand pit
  • Imagination House
  • Digger Pit
  • Trikes
  • Flickers
  • Go-Karts
  • Eco Park

We are very fortunate to have such a wide variety of bespoke play equipment in the grounds of our school.

Extensive research has been undertaken into different types of play equipment, by the every school council enrolled at the school since 2006.

The pupils identified the type of play equipment that best suited the pupils of St John’s Primary School each year.

A series of fund-raising initiatives each year ensured the necessary funding was secured and the play equipment purchased.

All play equipment is fitted with modern robust play materials.

Play is an essential part of every child’s physical and social development and we are delighted to see our pupils benefit from the provision of this play area

The benefits are very evident every day in school. The children are more active and healthy, learning to take risks and developing their social skills in the process.

The play equipment also greatly adds to the provision of the PE element of the Revised Curriculum.

Each play station has space to allow up 50 students to be active at any one time and this allows us to maximise its use.”

Continually adding to our extensive equipment demonstrates the school’s commitment to encouraging the children to take part in daily physical activity.  We endeavour  to give the children every opportunity to experience fun, challenge and adventure whilst  exercising in all aspect of fitness

We are very proud of what we have achieved. We hope that all of our out-door resources will be an asset to the school for many years to come.”
