School Aims

At St. John’s we aim;

  • To maintain a strong Catholic ethos where the child’s spiritual and moral development form an integral part of the curriculum and ensuring that our school is an extension of the good Catholic home.
  • To provide a caring and secure learning environment where each child’s potential can be developed to the full, morally, intellectually, emotionally, socially and physically.
  • To foster attitudes of respect, tolerance and understanding.
  • To develop respect for the community, the environment and our own culture; to promote respect, understanding of the culture and traditions of others.
  • To provide a broad and balanced curriculum fulfilling the requirements of the Northern Ireland Education Order and to provide extra-curricular activities to enhance development and enrich the children’s experiences.
  • To establish and maintain acceptable forms of behaviour within a safe, secure and well ordered school environment.
  •  To develop a sense of self-respect in each child that he/she may have the capacity to live as independent, self-motivated and well adjusted adults of the future.
  • We at St. John’s seek to provide an educational experience centred on Christ, his values and his gospel messages so that each child grows and learns in a strong Christian faith.
