Having won their Cumann na mBunsol football section earlier in June, our school team qualified to take part in the Tyrone County Finals in the Tyrone Centre of Excellence, Garvaghy today.
In a cracking, all action semi-final, Master McGarrity's boys overcame a very talented Holy Family, Omagh team, by the narrowest of margins. In the Allianz Ireland Cup final the boys came up against St Patrick's P.S. Ardboe, who had recently defeated Kingsisland in the final of the Edendork tournament. There was nothing to separate the teams at the break, two points a piece. Playing with grit and determination in the second half, the boys put on the performance of their lives, playing out of their skins, scoring 2 second half goals to secure the Cup for the first time in the school's history.
