Over this past few weeks we have been monitoring our bird box in our wildlife area of the school. We have installed a camera inside the bird box and linked it up to a TV monitor in one of the classrooms.
The children have followed the activity of a beautiful male and female Bluetit, as they have worked tirelessly to build a nest inside the box.
The boys and girls have watched on as a new egg has been laid each day, culminating in 8 eggs being laid in total. You can imagine the excitement as all classes come over to monitor this activity. Hopefully over the next two weeks we will witness the eggs hatch and see the beauty of new life emerging right in the heart of our very own playground.
