Camogie Ulster Final

St John’s defeated the Donegal Champions, Stranolar 6 goals to 1 in their first match. Goals from Orlagh Gavin (4), Sarah Devlin (1) and Laurna Hagan (1) ensured a perfect start from the young Kingsisland students.

In their second match the girls came up against a very strong Ballygalget (Co Down Champions) Team. Both teams displayed excellent Camogie skills with both goalkeepers pulling a string of outstanding saves. The game was decided by a penalty awarded to the Down Champions.

In their final group game Fermanagh Champions, Donagh were the opposition. St John’s totally dominated the game from start to finish. Unfortunately they could not find a way past the Fermanagh goalkeeper. St John’s conceded a late goal in what proved to be the Fermanagh girls only attack.

All of our girls Orlagh Gavin, Sarah Devlin, Laurna Hagan, Nicole Morgan, Aileen Cullen, Dearbhla Hanna, Niamh Hagan, Ciara McCabe, Katie McLaughlin and Aoife Robinson proved to be outstanding ambassadors for Kingsisland and represented St John’s with distinction both on and off the field.

To cap off their day, the girls were treated to trip to MacDonalds for some light refreshments :-)))

As all of the girls are in primary 5 and 6 we look forward to more success next year. Well done girls.
