Today Primary 5 took off on a series of Science investigations in our World Around Us topic of Flight. With the wind at our backs we investigated the effect wing size has on the duration and distance of flight using home made gyrocopters to mimic sycamore seed dispersal in nature. Rumour has it a few turned up at Oxford Island this evening, such was the effectiveness of the children's launching technique! The photographs capture the excitement and fun we all had, and the slow mo video at the end of our presentation highlights just how amazing nature is at working its magic! It's onwards and upwards for this group of eager investigators!
