Not to be outdone by the boys, the girls from the 5 schools battled it out for the ladies CnmB Tír Eoghain section winners prize.
It's fair to say that the standard of girls football at this age is getting so good and is a pleasure to watch. It was notable how many girls were soloing and kicking using both feet — tremendous skill indeed! In a seriously skilful final, an excellent Laghey team retained their title with a narrow win over the Kingsisland girls. Well done Laghey Primary School. A special mention to Maeve Hanna from St Mary's Primary School, Carland, who won the best player of the day award.
