Christmas Cup

One of the highlights in the school year and often an event where pupils like to know as early as possible when it is happening! Nearly 70 players took part in the tournament which had to take place over two days due to the weather and an already event-packed final week of the year. Today we played off the later stages of the tournament where Borussia Dortmund beat Real Madrid 1-0 in the Europa League final. With the highest score line of 7-5 in the Group Stage, things definitely tightened up in the knockouts — the winners also had captain Mollie as Player of the Tournament and Niall as Golden Glove winner, having saved a penalty in the final. In the Champions League final, a 1-0 score line also was the difference as Atletico Madrid beat Barcelona. An early goal from Louis proved crucial as they held on and team captain Conor lifted the trophy at the end. Jonathan also won the Golden Boot award despite his team not making a final!
