Four teams competed in Section G of the Allianz Ireland Tír Eoghain Cuman na mBunscol boys GAA football heat held today in Derrytresk GFC.
St Malachy's PS Moortown, Gaelscoil Uí Neill Coalisland, Primate Dixon PS Coalisland and St John's Kingsisland were the competing schools. Following a round robin series of group games, Primate Dixon topped the group with 3 wins, including a 1-point win over Kingsisland. Kingsisland finished second with 2 wins, Moortown third with one win.
Primate Dixon and Kingsisland met again in the final. In what was a physical and skilful display of attacking football, with no quarter given, the Kingsisland lads raced into an early 10-point lead — a lead that they never relinquished. A great performance from every lad in the Red & Black jersey today.
The boys now progress to the Tír Eoghain County finals to be held in Garvaghey on June 4th. Many thanks to Derrytresk GAA for the use of their facilities — the pitch was in pristine condition.
